Canadian owned Crane voted No. 1 beach by USA Today readers

In a Readers Survey conducted by America's national newspaper USA Today, the fabulous beach at Canadian-owned Crane Residential Resort in the Barbados was voted the No. 1 beach in the Caribbean. After visiting Crane Beach several times, we at TraveLife give a thumbs up to USA Today for agreeing with our own survey which always ranks Crane Beach and its sugary sand among the best on the planet.

Also highlighted among the  10 Best by USA Today was another well-known Barbados beach—Bathsheba Beach. Ranking eighth, this east coast destination attracts some of the world’s top surfers. Nicknamed ‘Soup Bowl Beach’ for its foamy, rolling waves, this popular surfing destination attracts visitors of all types for its spotted coastline of rock formations and idyllic photo opportunities.

“We are thrilled to call two of the most celebrated beaches in the Caribbean home,” says William Griffith, Chief Executive Officer of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. “Our lively culture and idyllic surroundings set us apart from other destinations, making Barbados a must-see spot for travellers both past and future.”

This most recent award comes as no surprise to regular visitors to The Crane. It is the Caribbean’s oldest operating resort, first opened in 1887 when guests took to the beach for its health-restoring properties. Latterly, the beach has been recognized as “one of the top ten beaches of the world” by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, and highlighted as one of the”100 places to see before you die” by the BBC’s Holiday programme.

“We at The Crane are immensely proud to be recognized by the readers of USA TODAY who love Crane Beach as much as we do,” said Paul Doyle, CEO of The Crane. “It’s an honour to be the custodians of such incredible natural beauty and it speaks to the wider beauty this beautiful island.”

Currently, The Crane is offering superb value for Canadians looking for a winter escape.
