Merry Christmas everyone! Hope Santa delivered some amazing gifts to each and everyone of you. I gave myself the gift of travel this year and I'm sitting at Pearson International in Toronto on Christmas Day waiting to hop on a KLM flight to Amsterdam and then Rotterdam where I'll be experiencing those great Dutch cities in all their winter glory. I'm especially excited about my first stop - Amsterdam - where I’ll be staying at the delightful Waldorf Astoria Hotel - the best property in Europe - and taking the “Water Color” canal boat tour.
The Water Colour event sees local Dutch artists create some special light exhibits that dance on the night canal and make some special visual affects - can’t wit to see that. Here’s a link to what the Water Colour event is all about: https://www.amsterdamlightfestival.com/en/water-colors/
Of course, while in Amsterdam, I’ll be visiting all the city’s great museums - the Van Gogh is always my favourite - but this time I’ll also be stopping by a Sex Museum in the Red Light District - for research purposes only, of course.
I’m also going to take the free "Illuminade" Walking route, which is also supposed to be pretty special - https://www.amsterdamlightfestival.com/en/illuminade/
In Rotterdam I’ll be staying at the modern Mainport Hotel on the Maas River - http://www.mainporthotel.com/en/Home.html - which offers some great views of the city and river and is close to all the great attractions that wonderful city has to offer
I’ll sending back daily reports so please stay tuned.
