All eyes on sister act

All eyes on sister act

Corianna and Brianna Dotson caught the eye of the fashion world when they launched their eyewear company in 2009 using their nicknames — Coco and Breezy Eyewear.
The twin sisters raised eyebrows again when they were revealed to be the designers behind the late entertainer Prince’s iconic “third eye” glasses. Now, the dynamic design duo and their rapidly expanding eyewear firm are being looked upon as one of the most successful Black, Hispanic women-owned companies in North America.
Obviously, the future looks very bright for the Minnesota sisters and their fledgling New York-based company, which was featured recently on ABC’s popular Good Morning America (GMA) show.

Corianna and Brianna Dotson eye-popping designs are the talk of the fashion world.

Besides having the coolest names in the design world, Coco and Breezy also create some of the most creative eyewear in the world and this summer their sunglass collection is sure to be in hot demand.
Regarding being one of the few Black, Hispanic women-owned eyewear brands in many optical shops, Breezy told  GMA “we don’t mind being the first to pave the way, but we don’t want to be the only. We give our time a lot to other Black and Brown people that want to design eyewear and create a company.
“In most of the stores that we’re in, we are one of the only Black, Hispanic women-founded eyewear companies, and so we believe that it is our job and our duty to show representation and continue to create the space and create the lane.”
Coco and Breezy Eyewear has also been featured in most major fashion publications, including Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar and the sister’s eye-catching creations are attracting plenty of attention in overseas markets, as well.

Coco and Breezy Eyewear is a fashion statement that's raising eyebrows everywhere.

Their eyewear company’s success has also allowed the stylish sisters to break into the venture capital world.
“We’ve been bootstrapping since day one, but we recently got a small amount of capital through a business accelerator,” Coco told GMA.
Their goal is to have their “cap table filled with all Black women, or at least have the majority of our cap table filled with Black women investors.”
Breezy told GMA: “We really believe that we are creating the next biggest eyewear company, and so we’re just excited to get the capital to scale this business and really grow.”
The sisters truly are bringing a new vision to the eyeglass industry and Coco and Breezy Eyewear is sure to become an eye-conic brand around the world.

FRAMES2GO! POUCH HELPS END
SUNGLASS SEPERATION ANXIETY

It’s the biggest dilemma for travellers before every holiday trip — what sunglasses should I take? That’s because bulky sunglass cases take up too much storage space in luggage. And besides sunglasses, for many people, there’s also perscription glasses to pack as well.
Thanks to an eyewear fashionista named Suzanne Sendel, though, the problem has been solved.
Now you can stuff all your glasses into a single pouch called The Original FTG (Frames2go!) and pack it neatly away in your luggage.
Sendel, an eyewear distributor, came up with her Frames2go! Idea out of necessity.
“Having my full collection (of eyewear) with me was a must so that I  could sport my exclusive collections while visiting customers,” she says.
“Frames to go is not only an accessory, it’s a necessity and the ultimate solution for anyone’s eyewear collection.”
The sleek, trim designed Frames2go! pouch fits neatly into a purse, glove compartment, briefcase, suitcase or beach bag and even features
an extra pocket for your cleaner /cloth and contacts.
Thanks to Sendel’s vision, you can take ALL your favourite sunglasses with you on vacation.
